Prince George is the “spitting image” of Charles, the 9th Earl Spencer, in rarely-seen pictures posted on Instagram. Earl Spencer, who is the brother of the late Princess Diana, previously shared two new historic photographs on his account – to which royal fans pointed out how much he looked like Prince William’s eldest son.
The pictures, which were taken between 1940 and 1941, showed his grandfather, Albert Spencer and father, John Spencer. In the images, the 60-year-old’s grandfather could be seen in military uniform – and was seen posing outside Althorp house – which is the Spencer family home.
Also sporting his signature moustache, his father’s snap showed him also in uniform posing in front of a wall covered in foliage.
Posted back in October 2024, Earl Spencer captioned the post: “Two photographs from 1940 or 1941: my grandfather and father, on a war footing in the front courtyard of @althorphouse. My grandfather had fought as a cavalry officer and had been wounded, in the First World War.”
“He had an honorary army rank at the time of this portrait with his dog. That’s my grandmother in the distance. My father was in the Corps at @eton.college – he became an officer cadet there, before serving with the Royal Scots Greys in Normandy.”
One royal fan took the comment section, to share, “I think Prince George is the spitting image of your father when young. I love these photos.”
Another fan wrote, “Prince George is the spitting image of your father.” Another one agreed, adding: “I see his father in William also.”
