  1. Too little too late they don’t plan on having fair elections again

  2. Don’t worry, they’ll take care of that for you.

    Thanks!

  3. Republicans have always believed in trickle down economics , privatization of post offices and schools, and have always treated poor people like shit, the disabled or elderly, or low wage workers, and Republicans hate workers rights.

  4. Let’s hope this feeling spreads. We haven’t even begun to feel the full effects of federal agency cuts, deportation of immigrant workers and massive tarriffs. When republicans voters start having to skip meals, maybe their rose-colored glasses will fall off and they’ll come to the realization that one party wants you to suffer for not being wealthy and the other does not.

  5. Oh I can see the headline from here when the next election cycle rolls around (if it does, that is):

“How Republicans won me back and why I voted Republican again.”

  6. He just came to that now? JFC, I guess we have people like this to thank for this fucking mess. Too little, too fucking late.

  7. Welcome to the past 40 years or so, but is it better late than never?

  8. Till Trump I voted every presidential election for republican, never will again.

  9. The lies, gaslighting, lack of any plans or strategies, calling everything a national emergency to avoid normal processes, signal gate, deporting legal residents, DOGE incompetence, etc. is exhausting

  10. What convinced you when they were merely racist, misogynistic, and socially backwards with horrific economic policies?

  11. The dent in the head must be huge if you continued to vote gop after the last trump term

  12. Just now?

I had voted Republican years ago in local elections. I wasn’t going to vote for them at this time, but the day I said I’d never vote for this brand of Republicanism ever was in 2017 when they secretly voted to strip the Office of Government Ethics of its independence. Luckily, smarter people prevailed and they never actually went through with it but, for me, the writing was on the wall.

Since then, the GOP has gotten exponentially worse.

  13. Yep. Had this same realization 12 years ago, when the GOP nominated Trump the first time.

Before that, was a pretty common split ticket voter. If the Dems ran the better candidate, voted for them. If the Republicans did, voted for them.

Buf any party that could nominte an obviously unqualified, inept, conduct theorist con man for President is no longer a serious party.

Haven’t voted for a Republican in 12 years, suspect I won’t for at least the next 12, until every Republican currently in office is removed from power and a new generation shows up with principles.. if that happens at all.

  14. You just NOW realized that? It wasn’t evident by the lack of empathy or good decision making for the last 50 years?

  15. I can’t think of one thing Republicans have offered since Teddy Roosevelt and Howard Taft that anyone would actually want.

  16. I’m glad you’re on the right side now, but we are not obligated to kiss your ass. Recognizing that you were horribly wrong and that you won’t fall for it again is the first step. Fixing the damage you caused is the second step.

Edit: He says the republicans deliberately making a ballot initiative confusing so it won’t pass is what pushed him over the edge.

  17. You are a very slow learner and look where it got us. You’ve done irreparable damage and I’ll never forgive you. Any of you.

  18. They lost me with the Iraq war. Their willingness to lie and the character destruction of anyone who disagrees. Then the blatant racism during the Tea Party era. Ugh. Absolute trash.

  19. If you were alive for Reagan that should have been proof enough, if you watched Newt Gingrich completely shutdown “bipartisanship” that should have been proof enough, if you watched GWB lie us into war with Iraq, let New Orleans drown, and let the economy crash on his way out, that should have been proof enough.

  20. If anyone looked at Republicans’ actual policies and track record and said “well, maybe…”, then they’re dumber than a box of rocks. No doubt this clown comes crawling back to the GOP as soon as the party does a minor and totally inconsequential reband of the same failed, evil shit.

  21. Sure. I’ll believe it in 2-4 years. These people almost always find a way to justify supporting Republicans (with a few notable exceptions)

  22. The last 5 recessions all started while a Republican was in the White House.

    Go back further you say?

Ok the last 9 out of 10 recessions started under a gop president.

Those odds are 1 in 100 of that occurring.

In five of the last 10 transitions, a Democrat was succeeded by a Republican; each time the growth rate went down from one term to the next. In five of the transitions, a Republican was succeeded by a Democrat; each time the growth rate went up.

No exceptions. Ten out of ten.

The odds of this happening by chance? The answer is the same as the odds of getting heads on 10 coin tosses in a row: ½ times itself 10 times, 1 out of 1,024.

In other words, the difference is statistically significant at the 99.9% level.

The GOP party sucks at managing the economy.

Though at this rate I suppose you could now say the last 10/11 recessions, but I digress.

  23. The fact that anyone today still considers themselves a republican shows just how dystopian the U.S. has become.

  24. So not Watergate?

    Not Iran Contra?

Not lying about WMDs in Iraq?

Not any one of Trump’s numerous scandals?

Don’t get me wrong, Democrats are far from squeaky clean, but their scandals have been pretty fucking minor in comparison.

  25. Yeah? The last 50 years didn’t convince you already?

  26. Yeah I dont buy it. Every year they say they’ll never drink from the poison well again and every 4 years they do it again.

I have found that even listening to a conservative speak is a waste of time.

  27. …”The pathway to the kind of smug self satisfaction I want to experience for myself just wasn’t achievable as a Democrat, republicans allow you to instantly take it on without comprehending any actual facts or valid opinions or knowledge of politics science religion economics or math!”

  28. Imagine this being the straw that broke the camel’s back. I’d say better late than never but it’s probably too late to save our democracy but you know, the price of eggs.

  29. I see this shit every election as Republicans pull the same nonsense every single time. Tax cuts for the rich fuck the middle class, pretend to be the working class party, lie lie lie.

Them a Democrat gets in office and they screech at the top of their lungs at every single thing. I’m so sick of the cycle. I don’t care that alot of Republicans are finding out. This is the bed you made now sleep where you shit. Maybe fuckin remember this time when a Democrat is back in office cleaning up this mess once again

  30. “Another 10 years of this conduct and im gonna start getting suspicious.”

  31. If this person is 20, because I can excuse it then, because hey, you are growing up and learning/adapting to shit versus the medical doctor who wrote this, who has zero excuse. Me personally, I was convinced by the end of the G.W. Bush admin.

  32. When a conservative tries to say “Trump” or “MAGA”, correct them with “Republican”. This is what it’s all been leading to. Project 2025 didn’t start with Trump, the Heritage Foundation has been around since the 70s. The path to privatization by defunding government was used by Thatcher in the 80s. None of this is exclusive to Trump.

  33. The hallmark of Republican voters is being disgusted with government and continuing to vote for them no matter the consequences
