Read the article, and I’m not sure why this affects europe
The value of the euro has gone up, and the product is manufactured in China
Tough… Lol
Yeah, I’d say that was a tough one alright

It’s a bit odd that they are talking about raising prices in the counties that aren’t attacking their business, but no mention of the US?
Is this them just matching US prices after tariffs for the rest of the world?
Of course, it was a VERY tough decision. Literally a one second decision for CEO who smells more profit
Crazy, I’ve been interested in upgrading the ps4 since launch, but waiting for the price to come down. Five years later and prices are going up, for the second time. Crazy world.
Death stranding 2 could force my hand however…
I am not going to buy a PS5 and I’ll never buy a PS5, but if gamers were smart they would organise a boycott of the PS5 across Europe. Europe shouldn’t have to pay for the US’ mistakes.
To be fair, prices haven’t really gone up that much in like 20 years. Pretty sure PlayStation lose money on consoles and make it up on live service. Not great timing though.
Crazy that a console that is almost 5 years into its lifecycle is more expensive than what it was originally when the hardware is identical.
Isn’t that 2 price increases on the base model digital edition in 4 years and a hefty jump on the price of the Pro model versus the 4Pro on release?
They must be eyeing up a major base edition price increase for the PS6 when it launches.
On that note, are there any good deals on the disc PS5 at the moment, or should I wait until the summer?
Tf my friend entered like 20 win ps5 competitions and ended up winning two of them near release lmfao.
So when the apocalypse was happening I had just bought the other one he won off him for the selling price. It took my other friend over a year to finally secure a ps5. O.O
My friend that sold me the other ps5 for the actual price; he is a real one I’d literally take a bullet for him 😂. Such a good friend. I would have given him more lol. But he didn’t want to rob me.
Surely there would now be a surplus of them and in Keynesian economics, we would expect a price drop due to increased supply?
Or have we been lied to all along???
There are only two games I want that are exclusive to PS5. **Literally** everything else I want is either cross-gen with my PS4 and/or available for my Switch. All this does is make me even less likely to upgrade, and I doubt I’m alone in that. Any rumours on a PS6 release? Because that’s the only thing I’m interested in now.
Fuckin hell….delighted with my choice of a Series S and GamePass this generation.
The PlayStation 6 is out next year (I think) so I doubt there’s many people buying PS5s now anyway.
Just build a PC, it’ll cost you less in the long run. The majority of Sony exclusives end up on PC, you don’t have the yearly subscription cost to play online and you can take advantage of consumer friendly services like gamepass.
Subsidising the US market because the US fucked up. Why is it Europe always gets the shit end of the stick for US decisions? Can we just fking cut the US already.
My guess is that a GTA VI trailer is imminent and they’re preparinmg for a huge surge in demand
They know they can get away with this because they have a high monopoly over Xbox in Europe.
It seems that the price increase in Europe/UK is only affecting the PS5 digital edition.
Besides Tariffs, is the price increase being done to make the PS5 Pro more appealing since that comes with no disk drive too.
Making the tough decision to move further to piracy
Thankfully this doesn’t mean anything substantial, as the PS5 has no games anyways
Very tough and emotional. I’d say the decision moved them…to a bigger house!
I only played on PlayStation for 5 generations but now I find there is nothing on the thing anyway, Sony is remaking remakes at this point. I’ve been underwhelmed with games on the PS5.

Just don’t buy it
