    He was asking them, not the guy in the hole, if the guy in the hole was Ukrainian or not.

  15. holy man, my dad served a very long time ago and videos like this make me understand the issues he had with his PTSD. He’s been gone for some time but when I was a kid he took champax to get off smoking and his dreams were so vivid and had to get off due to the doctor worried he was going to have a stress induced heart attack reliving the encounters.

  23. Here’s how I see it: one of the Ukrainian found him hiding first then call the other Ukrainian over to talk about how to handle this guy. The Brazilian came over, confused since all 3 of them stand very close yet the hiding one clearly has a Russian uniform.

    Those 2 Ukrainian probably ignore this guy because language barrier, and because of that our Brazilian was weapon ready the whole time.

    He was already confused and then start to panic and shush the Russian since that guy still clearly armed. He keeps asking the 2 Ukrainian for confirmation, because the situation is very dangerous (maybe other guys didn’t think he was armed from their angle so maybe that’s why they were so relaxed?), and the Russian while all three was kinda distracted use the opportunity to pull a gun. Luckily our camera man has the weapon up the whole time so as soon as the question stops and Russian starts getting smart, he puts him down.

    It’s possible that Russian heard “No Ukrainian?” over and over and think they are about to execute him, and it’s also possible that he was just waiting for opportunity when all 3 are distracted. We’ll never know because he’s not gonna live to tell us that tale.

  24. You can hear the agitation and near desperation for the man in the trench to confirm he’s Ukrainian and not hostile, to not reach for anything and put his hands in the air to surrender. This RU choose death.

    Hands show intent, someone who talks the talk but hides their hands or reaches for something likely has other intentions.
