# **Current rules extension:**

Since the war broke out, disinformation from Russia has been rampant. To deal with this, we have extended our ruleset:

– No unverified reports of any kind in the comments or in submissions on r/europe. We will remove videos of any kind unless they are verified by reputable outlets. This also affects videos published by Ukrainian and Russian government sources.
– Absolutely no justification of this invasion.
– No gore
– No calls for violence against *anyone*. Calling for the killing of invading troops or leaders is allowed. The limits of international law apply.
– No hatred against any group, including the populations of the combatants (Ukrainians, Russians, Belorussians, Syrians, Azeris, Armenians, Georgians, etc)

# **Current submission Rules:**

Given that the initial wave of posts about the issue is over, we have decided to relax the rules on allowing new submissions on the war in Ukraine a bit. Instead of fixing which kind of posts will be allowed, we will now move to a list of posts that are not allowed:

– **We have temporarily disabled direct submissions of self.posts (text), videos and images on r/europe**. You can still use r/casualEurope for pictures unrelated to the war.
– Status reports about the war unless they have major implications (e.g. “City X still holding would” would not be allowed, “Russia takes major city” would be allowed. “Major attack on Kyiv repelled” would also be allowed.)
– The mere announcement of a diplomatic stance by a country (e.g. “Country changes its mind on SWIFT sanctions” would not be allowed, “SWIFT sanctions enacted” would be allowed)
– ru domains, that is, links from Russian sites, are banned site wide. This includes Russia Today and Sputnik, among other state-sponsored sites by Russia. We can’t reapprove those links even if we wanted.

**Donations:**

If you want to donate to Ukraine, check [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/t03lml/want_to_support_ukraine_heres_a_list_of_charities/) or [this fundraising account by the Ukrainian national bank](https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/wiki/ukrainewar#wiki_donations).

**Fleeing Ukraine**
We have set up a wiki page with the available information about the border situation for Ukraine [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/wiki/ukrainewar). There’s also information at [Visit Ukraine.Today](https://visitukraine.today) – The site has turned into a hub for “every Ukrainian and foreign citizen [to] be able to get the necessary information on how to act in a critical situation, where to go, bomb shelter addresses, how to leave the country or evacuate from a dangerous region, etc”.

  1. FIRST!

It’s an old tradition… I’d love if we could argue about who was first to comment instead of expecting a never ending stream of genocide horrors. Can we make it a bit less bloody by posting the good pictuires and news as well? Fields are greeening, birds are singing sort of stuff, just to keep the mental sanity, you know.

because, I see it in the commenters, they stare into the monster abyss for so long they themselves may become monsters.

  2. Any accurate-ish losses count for both side? Ukraine say they killed tens of thousands russians, Russia say they lost 3 guys (you get the hyperbole). Where the more accurate figure?

  3. > A complete isolation of Russia is impossible, dialogue should be established with the West sooner or later, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with the Russia-1 TV channel on Sunday.

    > “There cannot be any complete vacuum or isolation for Russia, it is technologically impossible in the modern world, the world is much bigger than Europe. And Russia itself is much bigger than Europe. Yet sooner or later we will have to establish dialogue, whether someone overseas wants it or not,” he said.

Unfriendly countries account for 2/3 of global GDP and are the technologically most advanced countries. Russia is free to do business with the rest of the world.

  4. I will write my local deputies again tomorrow and call for even harsher sanctions and more and bigger weapons for Ukraine.

I suggest everyone do the same.

  5. It’s good for Putin that the West has drawn the line at chemical weapons or nuclear strikes on NATO territory lol. Now Russian army can do something like Bucha massacre and it’s not really considered an escalation or anything to provoke harsher sanctions or offensive weapons

  6. Wonder if certain EU countries that had to be dragged into the light SWIFT sanctions on Russia will be thinking about making them harsher now, especially with what is coming out now that the Russian military has done to civilians.

Who am I kidding, the answer is 100% a no.
