Since the victory of the band KAJ in Melodifestivalen the interest and curiosity about the Municipality of VörÄ is rising.
After winning Melodifestivalen with its entry âBara Bada Bastuâ, the band KAJ emerged as a favorite to win the upcoming edition of Eurovision as the song became viral in Sweden and the whole Europe.
As a consequence of this musical success, the municipality of VörÄ, located in the west of Finland, is seeing a rise of curiosity about its community.
To serve this rise of interest, a âKAJ Coordinatorâ has been hired at the beginning of this month to work on a project during the contest week but also to advice and help potential tourists coming in the region in the coming days.
According to this new coordinator, Jessica Havulehto, people are curious about the culture, the language and of course the sauna of VörĂ„, while the head of municipality, Jan Finne, declared being happy and proud of KAJâs success.
Sweden will be represented in Eurovision 2025 with KAJ and the song âBara Bada Bastuâ. The country will compete in the first semi-final of May 13, performing 6th in the running order.

Sweden debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 and has gone on to be one of the contestâs most successful countries. The country has won the contest seven times, the most recent being in 2024. Swedenâs first victory came in 1974 when ABBA won the contest in Brighton with âWaterlooâ. Since missing out on the final in 2010, Sweden has gone on to finish 3rd twice and has won the contest twice. Only in 2013 did the country place outside of the top 10 in the final.
