I don’t know what the sentencing guidelines are around this but it seems quite shocking to only get ten years for this sort of crime.

10 years is a disgrace. He broken into a house, raped the woman then went to another house and tried to rob them.
The sentencing for sexual and serious offences in our country is a joke.
Absolute scum. What is it with these angry, homegrown, men carrying out such horrific sexual violence and so frequently?
There is no rehabilitation or redemption for people like that.

Should be a life sentence. That man has proven he cannot be trusted and he has brutally traumatised that woman for life. Keep him away from society.

Why is this the only image of him? Why haven’t Police Scotland issued the ultra-high resolution mugshot they took when he was arrested and charged? Why do newspapers so often have to rely on candid snapshots, by agencies like Spindrift, outside the Courts?

Crime like this, where there is absolutely zero doubt the attacker is guilty, should carry a mandatory life sentence.
