SS: According to a report by Taejun Kang for *Radio Free Asia*, Taiwan’s foreign ministry accused Cambodia of deporting dozens of its nationals to China following their arrest in Phnom Penh for online fraud, despite appeals for a full list of deportees and for them to be sent back to Taiwan in accordance with international norms. Around 180 Taiwanese and seven Chinese suspects were detained on March 31, but Cambodia deported nearly 190 individuals to China without disclosing their nationalities. Taiwan condemned the move as driven by Chinese pressure and lodged a formal protest. This case underscores the country’s deepening economic, political, and military ties with China, including major infrastructure investments and the controversial expansion of the Chinese-funded Ream Naval Base.
