US envoy Steve Witkoff wrapped up his latest talks with Russia’s Vladimir Putin on Friday, after President Donald Trump urged his Russian counterpart to move quicker to end what he said was the country’s “senseless war” with Ukraine.

  1. Given the current dependence between china and russia, doing a reverse kissinger, where US is able to drive a wedge between the two nations, is very unlikely to succeed. Unlike the 1970s, when a significant rift existed between china and the soviets, today's china relationship with russia is characterized by cooperation and mutually beneficial dependence. The conditions that enabled kissinger in the past, simply do not exist today. They have developed a cooperative relationship and interdependence. To diversify its soybean supply chain, china has invested in soybean farming in russia. After reducing soybean purchases from the US, china has turned to brazil, which has become a major supplier, with record soybean exports to china.

America is now morally and ethically bankrupt, broken and dysfunctional with an Administration who’s politics are based on ARROGANCE, IGNORANCE AND DISRESPECT. Red America is now the new global threat. Shameful and treacherous behaviour that WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN. America and the American people have no idea how much they are now universally despised. Globally people are actively boycotting American goods and services.

  19. Give me a break. Four hours of Witkoff playing tonsil hockey with Putin, a worthless Truth social post as redundant and ineffective as all of Trump's other drive-by empty threats to Putin. And the usual stupid tired slogan about "the war wouldn't have started if I was President." Wow, so much progress on the 24-Hour-Peace-Deal that never happened.

In 1994, Ukraine possessed the world’s third-largest nuclear arsenal – a Soviet inheritance that included approximately 1,900 strategic nuclear warheads. Ukraine voluntarily surrendered this entire arsenal under the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, receiving security assurances from Russia, the United States, and the United Kingdom in exchange. All signatories pledged to respect Ukraine’s borders and to “refrain from the threat or use of force” against Ukraine.
