Egg farmers: UK supermarkets must raise price or we’ll go under

  1. Farmers: we still don’t know how markets or business works. Or we do, but we want to pretend not to so government will give us even more money for doing even less.

  2. Then sell your product for a higher price?

If supermarkets won’t pay it then they should go to a competitor who can. That’s how capitalism works. If they are unable to find someone else they’ll have to pay more.

  3. Pretty tough to feel bad for an industry which throws babies alive into blenders because they’re considered a waste product. Or one which has systematically bred chickens to become so weak from egg production they collapse under the weight of their own bodies.

I don’t want to see people suffer but a few thousands of farmers over hundreds of millions of totally innocent animals annually? Aye I think we can probably do without shit like that if we really are a nation of *animal lovers*.

  4. Eggs are already very cheap and last as long as 4-5+ weeks past their best before date if kept properly. If you’re struggling, try and get some yellow label eggs the day they have to sling them.
