Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie‘s close relationship remains intact, despite recent reports suggesting a falling out.
Sources tell PEOPLE that the cousins’ relationship remains strong, dismissing claims made by Piers Morgan on a recent episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored. The British broadcaster alleged that Harry, 40, went “completely ballistic” after Eugenie, 35, was photographed outside a London pub with a group that included Morgan.
The photos, which showed Eugenie sharing a brief hug with him, sparked speculation given Morgan’s history as an outspoken critic of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
But insiders say there’s no truth to the rumors.
“The Duke remains close to Princess Eugenie. They always have and always will be,” a source tell PEOPLE in this week’s exclusive cover story.

It’s well known that the Duke of Sussex shares a close bond with his first cousin Princess Eugenie. In the 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex fondly recalled a memorable Halloween night out in 2016 with Eugenie and her future husband, Jack Brooksbank — one of the rare glimpses into their early relationship.
In home video footage featured in the Netflix series, Harry and Eugenie are seen riding bikes together beneath a canopy of palm trees, while another sweet moment shows Eugenie splashing in the ocean with Prince Archie, 5.
Notably, Eugenie is the only member of the royal family who appeared in the Sussexes’ documentary.

Also in 2022, Eugenie joined Harry at the Super Bowl in Inglewood, California, marking one of their first public outings together in the U.S. following Harry and Meghan’s move stateside in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank tied the knot in 2018, just a few months after Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding. Their sons, August, 4, and Ernest, 22 months, are close in age to Archie and Princess Lilibet, adding another layer of connection between the cousins.

Eugenie and Jack, 38, divide their time between the U.K. and Portugal for his job in the private sector, and Prince Harry and Meghan reportedly visited them in Portugal on their way back from the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Reports emerged in the fall of 2024 that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex purchased a vacation home in Portugal, which would create a base for easy meetups with Eugenie and her family while in Europe.
Despite tabloid reports painting him as isolated and unhappy, Harry has fully embraced his California lifestyle while honing his surfing skills, enjoying evenings out with Meghan and close friends and finding renewed purpose in his work.
In addition to his continued leadership with the Invictus Games and the couple’s Archewell Foundation, Harry has spent the past five years investing — both publicly and privately — in companies that reflect his humanitarian values.

At home, parenthood is their focus—Archie and Lilibet are the center of their world in Montecito, where they’ve created what a source calls a “happy bubble.” “
The kids are adorable. They’re incredibly smart, articulate and fun,” the insider tells PEOPLE of traits that have been glimpsed through Meghan’s recent return to social media.
Although tensions remain between Harry and his father, King Charles, and his brother, Prince William, Harry continues to maintain strong ties with other family members and friends in the U.K. This connection is a key reason he’s fighting to have his security restored, so he can visit those he’s close to and nurture these relationships.
Prince Harry also wants his children to connect with their U.K. roots, to experience their heritage and to build relationships with their extended family.
Prince Harry was in London just last week for a two-day hearing as he fights for a restoration of the state-funded official security in the U.K. that was stripped from him and Meghan when they stepped back from frontline royal duty.

Though Harry has become a familiar figure in British courtrooms amid his steely push back against the U.K. tabloid press, this pivotal case “has always mattered the most,” he told PEOPLE as he left the Royal Courts of Justice on April 9.
