Greece man charged after reporting stolen handgun from workplace

Greece, N.Y. — A man is facing weapons charges for allegedly possessing a firearm that was stolen from another state.

Travon Brown, 25, of Greece, claimed his handgun was taken early Wednesday morning while he was sleeping at his workplace on Lexington Avenue.

Brown reportedly left the business before authorities arrived, but returned a short time later.

At that time, he was found with a loaded handgun that was stolen in Georgia, according to police.

Brown was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property, authorities said.

He was taken to Monroe County Jail to await his arraignment in CAP court.
