A controversy has bloomed from The White Lotus. When Saturday Night Live did a parody sketch of the show, many people took umbrage with Sarah Sherman’s portrayal of Aimee Lou Wood’s character, as she was wearing prosthetic teeth.
Wood herself was disheartened by being reduced to a joke about teeth and fluoride. She wrote on her Instagram Stories that she found the sketch “mean and unfunny,” before declaring, “I am not thin-skinned. I actually love being taken the piss out of when it’s clever and in good spirits. But the joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth not bad teeth.”

The actress previously addressed the same fixation on her appearance in a recent interview.
She also stated that she didn’t blame Sherman for the sketch – and now it seems the two actors have built a bridge between them. Wood posted a picture of a bouquet of flowers to her Instagram Story and revealed it was a gift from Sherman. “Thank you for the beautiful flowers,” she wrote.
Many people came to Wood’s defense after the sketch about her looks went viral. She-Hulk and The Good Place star Jameela Jamil wrote on her Instagram Story (via Daily Mail) “I hate this so much. [Her teeth are] the least interesting or memorable thing about this brilliant actor. Our next Olivia Coleman. Hilarious, deep, vulnerable, and relentlessly loveable.” She went on, “We make fun of the assimilation of women and then mercilessly obsess over anyone with any slightly alternative features from whatever bullsh** AI standard we have allowed, as women, to take hold of this world.”

Aimee Lou Wood Liked Where Her Character Ended Up In The White Lotus
The White Lotus Season 3 SPOILERS follow.
Not everyone on The White Lotus gets a happy ending, and unfortunately, Wood’s Chelsea was one of these. She died – but Wood was okay with it. “Words are Chelsea’s armor – she’s a chatterbox. And all of a sudden, she cannot speak,” she said to Vanity Fair. “And then [Walton Goggins’ Rick] just sees her, and he loves her. He has to do all the talking, and he has to do the carrying. He has to literally carry her, and she’s been carrying them the whole time. It feels like, in a weird way, Chelsea does get what she wants.”
Showrunner Mike White thinks that Chelsea and Rick’s love proves stronger than death in the end. “There’s this idea that maybe in their tragic ending, there’s something that feels a little like some kind of hint to a life beyond, that love transcends this life,” he told Elle magazine. “Like even as they’re wheeled out to the plane together in their symmetrical coffins, that their love transcends this in some bittersweet [way].”
The White Lotus season three proved to be so popular that Wood’s career is sure to go from strength to strength now.
