Anyone exploiting the crisis for their own gain needs to be dealt with promptly
It’s both frustrating and angering knowing that there are young ACTUAL Ukrainian men being slaughtered in some cities while defending their country, losing limbs, guts and heads while fighting for the cities they grew up in, and these absolute chancers who have arrived in Ireland are going to be housed in own door housing courtesy of the taxpayer and given access to clothing and other items donated by Irish people who thought they’d be going to actual Ukrainian women and children…NGOs facilitating or promoting african students coming to Europe masking as “Ukrainian refugees” should be ashamed. Ireland waving any visa requirements was moronic.

If those non Ukrainian looking lads are infact Ukrainian then they should be in Ukraine fighting for their country. If they’re dual nationals or immigrants or whatever and happened to be in Ukraine when this started they should be sent back to their birth country when possible so that actual displaced people with no where else to go can have their place.

I mean, I guess they’re the right age profile for students, so international students stopping over on the way home? I think that’s what’s happening in the rest of the EU? Alternatively, maybe a mix of people from a DP centre, some Ukrainian, some general residents?
Some of these people did live in Ukraine. Lots of African students study there because they get a recognised degree much cheaper than in Europe. You cant expect them to take up arms to defend the country.

Funny how some people here assume you can`t be Ukrainian if your black, one of my mates I went to secondary school with was born & raised in Ukraine, and he speaks fluent Ukrainian/Russian. Sure I was born and raised in Ireland and I’m black, when I went to America and said I was from Ireland, people said they didn’t know black people live in Ireland. If black people can live in Ireland trust me they can also live in Ukraine.
Gonna take a bold stance here and say I can’t blame young men for not wanting to stay and die in a war against a military superpower, especially if they’re not soldier / have no military experience themselves

This was questioned in social media, and posts replies shut down. Anyone who questioned the make up of the group was automatically branded a racist.
Roscommon GAA went as far as issuing a statement on it during the week, condemning the racism involved.
It’s obvious there is something afoot here, if these lads are Ukrainian, how did they get out and avoid the conscription. If they are not Ukrainian, then let them return home. However, like the homelessness, there is a huge industry built up here around refugees, lots of people (not the refugees mind you) making lots of money, and nobody is allowed question any aspect of it.
How does refugee status work for someone working or studying in a foreign country that is now under attack and an actual warzone such as Ukraine. Surely foreign works and students would be sent back home?
Irish people being too nice and naïve once again. I feel sorry for the Ukrainian wives coming here seeing these men while their husbands can’t even leave back home.
Non Ukrainian refugees in Ukraine have also been welcomed into Ireland under the same provisions as Ukrainians as a result of the war.
Maybe I should not be surprised to see the top comments here failing to display an aptitude of open mindness, or even a slight understanding of the rules themselves before they cast their ill educated opinions.
As a fellow irishman it is disheartening to see these types of responses, in this day and age you owe it to yourself to atleast make an attempt at self education before formulating opinions.

Lads, I made a post on here about the exploitation of the refugee wave and I said that the government should definitely continue to take in Ukrainian refugees, but they need to more to combat fake refugees
……Then I got comments calling me an attic dweller, racist and I got a DM telling me to k¡ll myself :/
