that’s hardly new since we already know fines were given out. Unless they appeal the fines.
This means one of two things. Either ministers were ignorant of this law as they didn’t bother to read it before voting for it, or that they knowingly broke their own law. Either way, that should be about as sackable an offence for a minister as there could be.
They followed the law to the best of their ability. Boris is telling the truth about whether they followed the law to the best of their ability to the best of his ability.
Sadly, their ability to follow rules which apply to everyone else and tell the truth are abysmal but at least they tried?
Why are we asking people on the receiving end? If you want a legal definition of whether the law was broken …. Ask a lawyer ?? You know, someone who is a professional ( or even an expert !!! ) in this area. FFS.
Even Johnson knows he broke the law, even if he will not admit it to the public, he is also very happy knowing nothing will happen to him as a result of the investigation. Unless voters hold him to account at the council elections, Johnson will get away with all this.
