  1. >In an open letter published in the Financial Times, 36 members of the Board of Deputies of British Jews said they “cannot turn a blind eye or remain silent” at the “renewed loss of life and livelihoods” as a result of Israel’s renewed offensive in Gaza.

    >Signatories of the open letter criticising Israel’s offensive in Gaza warned “Israel’s soul is being ripped out and we, members of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, fear for the future of the Israel we love and have such close ties to”.

Israel’s soul is being ripped out? Good. It’s actually wild to think that if October 7 happened and if the Israeli’s did a limited approach to war and then pulled out, to become super defensive, the country probably would’ve been holocaust 2.0. Israel would’ve again, been the population to have the world’s sympathy and the Palestinian cause would’ve probably died out, looking like the barbarian’s Hamas makes them look to the Israeli’s and the pro-Israeli side abroad. It would’ve simply been over, regardless of whether the Israeli’s continued to colonize, rape, murder and blockade.

… Instead Israel is slowly becoming the Middle Eastern North Korea and the American’s under Trump are weaponizing Jews to push authoritarian rule, which, no doubt will backfire on Jews everywhere in the world. Not that makes it right of course, but this British Jewish body, like many other bodies and government’s are quickly waking up to the reality that Israel will make left-wing bodies toxic and right-wing political parties a little too close to the fascism of old.

    Good.

  2. Comments on this are being hidden / removed fyi, even ones applauding people who signed the letter but questioning why 90% of members didn’t.

    I’m not sure why.
