A large weather system is delivering heavy rain and strong winds to the upper North Island.Thousands of properties were without power in Northland, and there were outages reported in Auckland too.Up to 180mm of rain could strike Northland with possible thunderstorms, and strong wind warnings also in place.Auckland and Great Barrier Island can expect up to 120kph of severe gale gusts from Wednesday night.Rain is also forecast to spread into the South Island on Thursday.Warnings are in place for motorists using Auckland’s Harbour Bridge due to strong wind gusts.Check all MetService’s current weather warnings and watches here.If it’s safe for you to do so, send your images and videos of the wild weather to news@tvnz.co.nz with the subject line WEATHER.
