i served as a squad automatic rifleman in the zimbabwe-yemenic empire armed forces and i served with a 99 round burst squad automatic rifle with a standard belt consisting of 100 rounds, so when you fire the second burst and only one round fires, you know that you’re in for a reload. same logic with the famas, last burst tells you that you’re empty.

The FAMAS G2 was made to accept standard STANAG 30 round mags from 1995 onwards

This is mainly because the Magazine is straight and not curved, its hard to make a high capacity magazine when its straight and not curved, thats also why most weapons have curved Magazines
