ARCA has announced the removal of the 30% tax retention for gaming platforms. A weird winnings tax for foreign purchases. Could be returned a year later if you submitted a form and they approved it, which could take from weeks to almost another year or be simply rejected because F you.
Now it’s GONE for some big gaming websites. Sadly smaller ones like GOG/Itch.io don’t seem to have made the list (doubt they know they exist tbh). The list is in a PDF the article or this tweet by national spokesman [Adorni](https://nitter.net/madorni/status/1912664401947291863), who is a big AoE2 fan so he may have something to do with all of this.
There’s still the 21% VAT though, this could be bypassed with crypto gift cards or foreign prepaid cards, but they can be pretty hit and miss with Playstation/Steam being cautious of foreigners taking advantage of our regional prices, so it’s nice to have the convenient legal option be a tad less hurtful. A good morning for Argentine titty and/or gaming [enjoyers](https://i.redd.it/4bw31a7twave1.jpeg).
All of this can be avoided with a VPN nowadays. Nobody really solely sells physical copies of games anymore so you can very easily get around this by acting like you’re in a country that doesn’t implement this kind of tax.
