Bond street is now officially Europe’s most expensive shopping destination

  1. It’s the most expensive place to rent a shop.

That’s different from being the most expensive shopping destination for consumers.

  2. Bond Street in London is primarily owned by the Corporation of London

  3. Does anyone even shop there? It’s usually filled with overseas tourists but the shops are almost always empty.

  4. You never see anyone in the fancy shops though.

Same as the ones in Westfield. Staff must be bored shitless working in there.

Go to the Burberry outlet in Bicester.. people scrabbling over half price jackets. No demand for £1600 ones in London.

  5. Our economy is entirely propped up by rich Chinese people

  6. Last time I walked down bond street, I counted 12 different homeless people sleeping in front of the stores at 11pm, using entrance doors to keep warm from the wind. This city is crumbling before our eyes

  7. A while ago I was walking home from work in my suit, one of the shops had a man standing outside offering people G&Ts (Gin and tonics)

I swear I was only offered one thanks to being in my suit. So of course took one then had to pretend I was interested in browsing very expensive clothing.

It was a very bizarre experience and made me wonder if this was a standard shopping experience for the rich

  8. The place is a drag strip. Skid marks up and down the street and boy racers there in the weekend.
Then you have the obnoxious pedicabs riding on the pavement and people coming for photoshoots.

It’s filthy, loud, full of idiots and there is almost always construction going on ( 6 buildings sites at present ). Somehow that equates to people calling it ‘glamours & chic’ 😂
