  1. Good, making the GDP number go up with foreign labour at the cost of social cohesion and lower prospects for people already living in the country is a bad deal that is beneficial to only very few at the top.

  2. Oh wow, gotta keep go on with the post-election temper tantrum

  3. So they are backing off a bit with slamming immigrants? Nice, time to breath.

  4. Doesn’t really help when immigrants have already taken up most available jobs.

  5. They need highly educated immigrants. But after finishing higher education, people are doing food delivery.

  6. Good. There’s not enough new housing being built so rents would have sky rocketed like in Canada if immigration stayed at high level

  7. >EK has advocated for a net annual inflow of 45,000 international experts to meet future workforce needs.

    That’s uhh… an increase from 1090 -> 45 000. Over 41x increase?

  8. Considering that for now the govt hasn’t taken any steps towards growing the economy, only shrinking the expenses, it’s really great that they plan at least to do some steps in that direction.

  9. Soon they are going to promote migration for the locals if they continue like that.

  10. Excuse me why does Finland need immigrants? Wasn’t it not long ago said that there are currently cca 300.000 unemployed but only 20.000 open jobs? That doesn’t sound like a shortage of workers to me. That sounds like a shortage of jobs. What am I missing here? Why would we need 40k immigrants annually when there are only 20k job openings?

  11. In other words, they dont want economy get better

  12. … all the while doing nothing to take care of their current immigration population either. PhD holders are made to apply for cleaner positions, they are discriminated against in job positions for not having Finnish last names, but of course, the issue lies with the damn foreigners /s.
