  1. I was listening to an ex prison governor on the radio the other say. She was asked why they don’t have body armour already. The response was it might be intimidating to the prisoners.

Think of that what you will.

  2. Why not just put him in solitary and throw away the key. It’ll save on buying body armour and warn any other toe rag.

  3. Body armour wont help against stabs to the head and boiling oil, but its wild they don’t already have it. Classic attitude towards public sector safety

  4. Just give them it.

    It’s the most efficient way.

You have a review that costs money, then buy the armour which also costs money.

Just save the money from the review and use it to buy a couple of fancy electronic night sticks with cattle prod capabilities and usb charging.

  5. I have been militantly against capital punishment my entire life, but my god is this one testing me

  6. Uhh maybe if we focused on rehabilitating these prisoners and use the money for that rather than just violently putting on masks and vests which is incredibly intimidating and shows the prisoners they are not truly valued but seen as a dangerous animal in a Zoo?  Just a thought guys.

  7. Body armour really wouldn’t be effective. The prisoners will just go for the exposed/weaker areas unless we’re suggesting that the prison staff wear old school chain mail.

Better practices in containing the prisoners is a more effective way with deal with violent prisoners even is this means a calorie controlled diet, extremely long holding hours and/or holding them in restraints that limit their movement.

  8. “The choices we make and actions we commit based on that environment”. And what if that environment indoctrinates someone with a set of seriously harmful beliefs?

I think this idea of “free will” is a lot more complicated than people give it credit for.
