  1. What do you mean!? We’re all payin Superquinn prices for shit these days!

  2. Such a great shop!

The toffee cake, the sausages, freshly squeezed OJ, the bakery, all the fancy meats and cheeses and sundried tomatoes.

    All the samples!

Do you remember you could cut the stalks and stems off the fruit and veg before you weighed it.

They used to bring kids to the cinema every Sat and Sun at 12 noon!

Such an innovator Feargal Quinn was.

  3. They still are bar the branding. Supervalu stores are divided into two groups, the owner run franchises like Rush’s or Pettits. And then the MOPI stores, which are centrally run and are the former superquinn stores

  4. The creche. Happy not talking to anyone in the corner.

  5. The hot counter with the hotdogs in northside were great and those chicken burgers with the garlic sauce and the taco sauce. So damn good.

  6. I must be the only sperm cell here but my guess is that these lads are the predecessors to SuperValu?

  7. Their stores looked and smelled different than what we have today.

  8. The smell of bread as you walked into the superquinn in the market cross Kilkenny, that will always be a core memory

  9. We used to be a country lads. A proper country.

  10. Brolly for the lady?

They also pioneered the use of handheld scanners so you could add it up as you went.

  11. The SuperValu that replaced SuperQuinn in Lucan is still just as good

I remember the doughnuts that were fresh out of the oven!

  13. The superQuinn bakery was unreal, the toffee cake was a highlight

  14. Ah memories, getting up on a Saturday, getting fresh bread and the newspapers and spending the morning reading them and eating tea and lovely toast with the boyfriend…bliss

  15. If lidl didnt exist id be doing fiver handjobs behind superquinns

  16. Worked in Superquinn for 9 years. 2006-2015. Some of the best memories of my life were there. Lucan branch.

  17. My friend robbed this place blind in college. Back when self checkouts were a new thing.

    Their jam donuts were delectable.

    Superquinn. Whatever happened there?

  18. Times weren’t simpler. You were younger and more innocent and shielded by your parents and teahers from the harsh realities of life.
