This has happened in various industries, especially in industries where more immigrants work. You can be exploited easily especially without having a good grasp on the language and what is the law in Finland. As the money gets tight in Finland you have to be extra careful.
Don't take Reddit gospel and rumours as the law. Contact authorities and ask them and yes you have rights in all industries with any employer being foreign or native.
Employers can make a contracts which aren't within the law so make sure you get it checked out. If you think the contract is bullshit, ask them, get them to explain it and you don't have to agree to it.

When signing a job contract for an office job, if your employer says the job is hybrid and requires you in the office x amount of days, get that shit in writing on your contract. My workplace has increased the number of days beyond what I agreed to and unfortunately my union lawyer said I can’t do anything because I don’t have it in writing.
Employers don’t give a fuck about you or what they agreed to. They will lie and deceive you to make the most money for themselves.
I’ve now had three jobs in Finland and each job has had one instance of trying to fuck me over. 1st job offered me a raise and then I had to bring it up every month for 6 months until they finally provided it. Second job did a mass layoff after my probation period ended and tried to say it was during my probation to avoid having to pay two weeks severance. And now this third job with their forced back to the office.
There is a good website [https://tyoelamanpelisaannot.fi/en/](https://tyoelamanpelisaannot.fi/en/) by SAK about work rights
And yes, join a union
Here’s the thing, immigrants HAD TO look away when it comes to their right. It’s their only advantages in hope of getting a job.
