  1. They are a threat to people who want to control the ability of others to live their lives. Authoritarians cannot allow drag queens to exist because they cannot allow the freedom to choose to be different to exist.

  13. As far as I know republicans are just trying to keep queens in the clubs. Im a gay guy and I really don’t understand why it’s so blasphemous to agree that Drag Queens should stay a night club act. There’s too many fucking brunches and gigs that have no need for a drag queen. If parents want to hire one for their kids birthday party then fuck it that’s on them but I don’t think it’s unreasonable that some people just don’t want to be around it. I might not agree with them but I live in a very religious area where there are a lot of Christians and Muslim parents that just don’t want their kids exposed to it at a young age. It might be refeer madness but if it makes parents feel more comfortable if some states make laws that require drag performers only to perform around 21+ then whatever. It’s not a big ask.   16. Right wing people think and live in a black and white world. Many of them, who claim to be 100% straight, actually have a sexual preference somewhere in the middle. But since they are unable to perceive it fully, because they can’t embrace or even tolerate complexity, it terrifies them, so it turns into an externalized attempt to stamp it out.

    It’s exhibited perfectly again and again by these anti-gay pastors who get “caught having gay sex”. They then go on and on about how they are a sinner who gave into temptation. No, buddy, you’re just gay. If you aren’t gay, there is 0% temptation to have gay sex
