These were under the but stock. I have figured out what town this man lived in but I don’t understand much else. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance. I know he lived in Altdorf. But I don’t understand much else.

  1. That’s pretty much all there is, he was a doctor of law, named Alfred Weber from Altdorf in the canton of Uri. His rank was Hauptmann, which is a captain (NATO OF-2).

There is what seems like a W next Alfred on the lower paper, maybe he had a second name as well (Alfred W. Weber).

Edit: I‘m now very convinced that the second label doesn’t say „Weber, Alfred W“ but „Weber, Alfred 23“ which would match Alfred Weber‘s year of birth.

  2. Looks to me like the guy was a Hauptmann (captain) in the army, a Dr. Jur. (Doctor of law), called Alfred Weber and from 6460 Altdorf.

  3. Hptm. Dr. iur. Alfred Weber

Hptm – equivalent rank of OF-2 in todays nato
    Dr – doctorate
iur – of law (but no indication if he’s a lawyer too)

    Alfred – firstname
    Weber – lastname
