Rule 1 – JK Rowling, obviously, and I am a Scottish transgender woman that is already seeing an increase in my daily abuse for daring to show my face in public.
All that money and clout and she punches down.
She just reminds me of Jimmy Saville with the cigar.

Personally, I disagree with your opening line/statement. That’s not to say trans women should have any less status in society.
I’m convinced she’s a fucking sociopath
Her picture is very clearly a reference to Hannibal Smith from the A Team. The underlying critique might be accurate but there’s also a lot flying over the original poster’s head here and he’s making himself look like a bit of a dolt.
Trans women are trans women. Women are women.
I think trans women should be protected in society but I don’t think they’re the same as women, it’s not as black and white is it. They’re trans women.
Trans women are not female according to the law
So accept it and move on
Unfortunately you are objectively wrong.
Having said that all people still deserve equal rights and medical help regardless of their assigned sex at birth.
Trans women are women!!! Always!! She is fucking rank and this picture makes me sick

I’ve just joined this sub as I’ve just moved to Scotland and I’m so disappointed with how much transphobia is here
It shouldn’t even be up for debate that trans women are women, that we aren’t all pedos, or any bollocks like that
People seem to like being on the right side of history except when it comes to trans people – we are an oppressed group like any other and it doesn’t matter what a woman is, if the consequence of your viewpoint is trans people getting hurt and harassed and murdered and marginalised, maybe rethink your viewpoint
Transwomen are biologically male.
And no one from the trans community pretends otherwise. They live as women but that’s why they’re ’trans’ and not ‘cis’
Nah.
What a fucking ghoul.
The law requires definitions of terms. A “woman” cannot be “biological women plus anyone else who feels like it”. Trans women are trans women. Women are women.
Funny how the mods let through the bait posts THEY like.
I doubt anyone’s interested in my advice but here it goes. Whichever ‘side’ you are on in this debate, take a break from the JK Rowling obsession. I know everyone’s favourite hobby is performing emotions on the internet, and hurling abuse while claiming the moral high ground, but it’s not healthy.
This issue isn’t being resolved on the internet, and it’s definitely not going to be made better by arguing under photographs of someone who’s trolling her opponents.
Edit: looks like I was wrong, lots of learning and hugging and considering other people’s point of view going on here /s.
Good job everyone.
Only for some things
As *if* the other side wouldn’t be gloating if the result had gone the other way
She’ll be the first complaining when women are being asked to prove they aren’t trans when accessing single sex spaces and the first to complain when trans men are being made to access female only spaces.
Regardless of your views on what a person is, this is a possibility: it starts with identifying someone as other, then comes the forced IDs to prove what you are.
Unless the law is changed or other protections put in place, this is ripe for abuse against women as much as against trans people.
She says she is pro-womans rights, then excludes certain women from those rights. Let’s give rights to all women, not just cis women
Respect everyone’s right to call themselves whatever they want and to live their lives however they want, but don’t let them change the rules of life and society for the majority just to appease the vast vast minority of people who live this way, to the detriment of other groups.
Reddit is one thing, but ask around how many women in the real world would genuinely (and I mean being genuinely truthful) would be comfortable sharing a changing room with trans women who are also biological males (which is almost all trans women), and you can bet your arse it’ll be a landslide, and not in favour of trans women.
It’s not about being “transphobic”, it’s about not pandering to a vocal minority.
In every way that matters, they actually aren’t.
No, your opinion does not equal fact. Trans women are not women. It may be upsetting to some, but that is fact, law and will not change.
So with that logic, Americans that claim to be Scottish are actually Scottish too
Rory needs to go outside, get some fresh air, and grow up a bit.
As a survivor of abuse all she wanted was a space for only women. She was vilified and abused and activists tried to get her cancelled. Did you really expect her just to role over and take it? She had a principled position that she believed in and the courts have backed her. Given all the abuse and threats she has put up with I’m not surprised she’s doing a victory lap.
Give it up
I don’t support the ramifications of this ruling, however, I hate how we are americanising our Supreme Court. It is not politicised like theirs is, their job is to simply analyse existing law to glean therefrom a basis for future laws to be made and interpreted.
The vast majority of laws in Britain were made during a time when trans people either weren’t really a thing, or weren’t accepted by the society of the day.
So of COURSE the analysis of existing laws brought about this conclusion! It was always going to happen.
The blame should be placed on the government, which is able to make new laws that recognise the modern, inclusive attitude towards defining a ‘man’ and a ‘woman’, rather than on the Supreme Court, which just analyses existing legislation.
