Anger and indignation as Northern Ireland is branded the ‘begging bowl’ of the UK

  1. Nail on the head. I’d reckon Beatie could be the Unionist leader that SF could actually work with. Here’s hoping the DUP lose enough seats for that to happen.

  2. Beattie’s critique of the North’s finances aren’t bad but his solution is totally wrong. The problem isn’t the people in the Assembly per se it’s that the whole administrative system in the north encourages waste and then crucially billing London.

  3. There’s a debate worth watching that was filmed in Queens University on pro/against a United Ireland.

The pro United arrive fresh faced, younger, full of ideas and economic plans. Renewable energy, synergies with the economy of a United ireland, the EU.

The loyalist representatives are two decades older and simply just repeat in different ways “we get x billion from England every year”

    That’s it. That’s their message.

Theyre not even embarrassed about it anymore.
