In 2024, the import price in the European Union amounted to $13,658 per ton, increasing by 12% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 98% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $14,235 per ton in 2022; however, from 2023 to 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($32,378 per ton), while Slovakia ($808 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
