  1. So sad how common these stories are. You’d be hard-pressed to find a woman who has not had a health issue dismissed as anxiety. In friends, I’ve seen everything from life-threatening infections to MS dismissed as anxiety.

I hope she makes a full unexpected recovery.

  2. How awful. Particularly women tend to not be taken seriously. I think in the UK, as a friend of mine from there had said, they are much more conservative about testing. But really, it would happen here as well with how insurance companoes and drs just want to give you medicine, not test.

Unless someone ordered a PET scan, or a CT scan of her abdomen, which it seems that they certainly should have with her symptoms, they would not have caught that.

Wishing good things for her and hopefully immunotherapy or some treatment/clinical study that will really benefit her. And this comes at a time when the US is now not funding scientific studies at Ivy League institutions that are at the forefront of finding treatments.

  3. And that headline… I’d rather Rushmore lay claim to her if the press is going to be that shallow in identifying her for those in the back row.

  4. Same thing they did to Gilda Radner decades ago and we’ve come no farther since.
