Rape and domestic violence that’s a crazy mix. Is it like all rape or domestic only like the violence? If it’s all rape and domestic violence I feel that’s an unfair way to inflate the sexual assault statistic. I know a guy who never touched his girlfriend but she called the cops on him so she’s a domestic assault victim for example. Even if she’s not.
Unfortunately due to the war and ongoing circumstances, im not sure how it looks nowadays
That being said i hope it decreases.
I remember when there was a post about increase in HIV numbers, with similar timescale – comments seemed to agree that it is fully because of ukrainian influx
I wonder if this time it will be the same XD
where are all the poles blaming ukrainians for all their problems?
It’s only about rape that police was notified about. What about the times they didn’t go to the police because they do nothing about it and women became ostracised, especially in small communities? Or about wife’s being raped by their husbands? Police just laugh.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just that fewer people speak up or report it to the proper authorities. I personally reported a similar case involving my stepfather, and the police did very little. One of their arguments was: “The man spoke to us calmly and rationally. He’s not under the influence of alcohol. You don’t have any fractures or bloody bruises, so we don’t believe that what you’re saying actually happened.” It’s been a few years since then, and both my mother and I have completely lost faith in the Polish police.
It was only after the hospital itself reported it to the police for the second time that they finally opened an investigation – but it was closed after just a few weeks with the same conclusion… If you don’t have open fractures or you are dead, they won’t do anything.
It is for GUS, Główny Urząd Statystyczny from Poland. GUS is like main department of statistics
Reported rape. A lot of cases aren’t reported at all. Same with pedos
Although Poland’s rapeseed potential is steadilly growing
It was the best in 2020. Lowest rates in this period.
How do you think Covid could impact that?
I mena I get the lockdown – people stopped calling the cops less, maybe realising that it will be much harder to avoid the influence of abuser
But why did it keep on somewhat the same level later, instead of returning to norm?
Edited: norm sound horrible in that context but you get what I mean
