Tommy Cash has continued to promote his Eurovision participation, appearing in Italy earlier this week.
The Estonian representative Tommy Cash was a guest on Stasera c’è Cattelan, on Rai 2 earlier this week. The singer of “Espress macchiato” has drawn a large amount of attention for his song, which plays into Italian stereotypes.
The singer has drawn debate in the country regarding whether his song is fun or is insulting to Italians. This is the second time that Tommy Cash has appeared in the country since winning Eesti Laul and is part of a wider promotional tour ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
Italy has awarded Estonia points in five out of the last ten editions of the Eurovision Song Contest:
2015 – 2 points from the Italian vote
2018 – 6 points from the Italian televote and 4 points from the Italian jury
2019 – 5 points from the Italian jury
2023 – 6 points from the Italian jury
2024 – 2 points from the Italian jury

Estonia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 alongside six other countries. In 2001, Estonia won the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark, the country’s only victory to date. They won with the song “Everybody”, performed by Tanel Padar, Dave Benton & 2XL, who took a surprise victory in Copenhagen. After the success of the late-90s and early 00s, Estonia failed to qualify for the final from 2004-2008. In 2009, Estonia launched a new selection show, Eesti Laul. They have qualified for the final on 10 out of 16 attempts since.
