Ireland head coach Scott Bemand believes Aoife Wafer can become a “generational talent” after her player of the match performance in their 40-14 win over Wales in Newport in the Women’s Six Nations.

Wafer was one of three Ireland players who scored a brace of tries against the Welsh along with Dorothy Wall and Linda Djougang to help record Ireland’s second away bonus-point win of the championship and strengthen their third place in the table.
