I bought this Polish helmet a year ago and it has all this writing on the inside and I was curious if anyone here could translate it? It looks really interesting.

    kpr probably stands for “kapral” = corporal. Chomik is probably the owner’s surname. ZB not sure, might be short for “Zbigniew”.

    ~~Summer~~ **Spring** of 1980-1982. Włodawa and Kołobrzeg are cities in Poland, perhaps where the owner was stationed.

    It’s completely illegible, but I’d guess it might be the owner’s signature.

  2. Chomik means hamster in polish! Might be a nickname. My polish is not good enough for the rest, but I do know that one!

  3. The double chevron probably represents the owner’s rank of Starszy Sierżant (Staff Sargeant).

  4. Interesting trivia about this is that Corporal Hamster owned this when Solidarity movement just started and just before and maybe little after Martial Law was declared. Very interesting time in Polish history to be in the military.
