Translation of Text Inside Polish Helmet

I bought this Polish helmet a year ago and it has all this writing on the inside and I was curious if anyone here could translate it? It looks really interesting.

  1. It’s just say Spring 80-82 and two cities – Włodawa and Kołobrzeg.

  2. Spring 80-82 and city names. The other is either a surname or a nickname, hard to read.

  3. Chomik means a hamster, but is also potentially a surname? Combined with Zb. which I suppose could be Zbigniew (a male first name).

  4. CHOMIK. ZB – hamster – maybe a nickname? or Surname and previous owner could be named “ZBigniew Chomik”

    WIOSNA 80-82 WŁODAWA – KOŁOBRZEG:

    spring ’80-’82 (probably time of beeing on duty)
    Włodawa – Kołobrzeg – it’s a city’s name

  5. Time and place of doing the draft and colleagues’ nicknames. Those would usually be marked on the reservist’s scarf, but in this case someone got the idea to write them on the helmet fittings.

  6. Yeah, from my time in the army about 70% had some markings. Many of these things saw whole generations of young servicemen, and werent checked all that much when turning them back.

    The time you were drafted (which season and year), your company, nickname, were popular things to write on your equipment, walls, lockers etc.

  7. kpr CHOMIK.ZB. – Corporal Chomik (Chomik being a surname). ZB I don’t know but it might be the name Zbigniew.

    Wiosna 80-82 Włodawa-Kołobrzeg – Spring years 80-82 Włodawa-Kołobrzeg (city names). My guess would be that Corporal Chomik was deployed for training in Włodawa and Kołobrzeg between 1980 and 1982.

    As for the rest no clue. The two chevrons indicate the rank of senior sergeant but he wrote corporal next to his name.

  8. 3rd photo could be manufacturer stamp. Not exactly sure, but is it Z Łucznik?

  9. I think the third slide says „Zbyszek”. Diminutive for Zbigniew.

  10. Wiosna 80-82 means he was drafted into national service in the spring (back then there were four drafts per year) and served in those years in those two places (back then national service took 2 years)

  11. I guess the third pic is his signature, and there are a couple of results for Zbigniew Chomik
