The parents of a 12-year-old boy who was killed in a hit-and-run crash have said they are feeling “very positive” after meeting with the ambassador for Latvia.
Keaton Slater died after being hit by a black BMW in Coventry on 14 June last year.
Dolars Aleksanders, who was born in Latvia but is a UK resident, is wanted by police on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and officers believe he is currently in Latvia.
The Latvian ambassador, Atis Lots, declined to speak to the BBC, and in a statement the Latvian embassy said it could not provide any comment or details on the “tragic case” because of its ongoing and sensitive nature.
