Just moved in here in Germany. I know that the blue dot is for someone to get in when they ring the doorbell. What are the other numbers for? Are they floor numbers? So if I live for example 2nd floor, I can press 2 and the person knows I am on the 2nd floor? Thank you in advance!

Never seen one of those before, but from what I could gather from a bit of Googleing, this Wohntelefon is indeed not only a Gegensprechanlage for the communication between the apartment and the exterior house door, but also for the internal communication with other residents in the house. Since Germans do value their privacy, I can’t think of these being all too common either.
