This World Affairs Council of Central Illinois (WACCI) program explores Iran’s strategic objectives, its network of regional alliances, and the escalating confrontation with Israel. It also considers the implications for U.S.- Iran relations, particularly in the context of the stalled nuclear negotiations and shifting geopolitical alliances. Dr. Mohammad Tabaar is an associate professor in the Department of International Affairs at the Bush School at Texas A&M University. His research areas include international security and Middle East politics. He is the author of Religious Statecraft: The Politics of Islam in Iran.
