  5. Eh, they married when she was ~~46~~ **40** years old, she’s an adult who can make her own choices. Hope he enjoys her company and that she’s got a nice carve-out in his will.

  11. Something tells me if you have her truth serum and asked her if she planned to be married to 86 year old dick van dyke for 13 years the answer would be no. It might work for them but I’m guessing she didn’t really expect to spend a decade of her life with a 90 year old starting at 40ish.

Honestly, people get upset at “power dynamics” in age gap relationships, but at a certain point things flip and the younger person is usually going to have more control of their faculties than the one in their golden years. I don’t see any reason to doubt their love for each other, but if there were any concerns about one taking advantage of the other, I’d be more wary of the 53 year old taking advantage of the guy pushing 100 than the reverse.

  24. I got to meet him and his wife when we were working the palisades fire! We seen a guy walking the neighborhood and he just came up to us and said he was Dick Van Dykes assistant. We were like oh he lives in this neighborhood? Next thing you know he comes out to talk to us and we took a photo with him. My engine captain is an older guy and he was absolutely fan girling. His wife had their RV ready to go just in case they needed to evacuate, she was taking good care of him and he looked great for his age. They were so nice and I’m happy to be able to say I got to meet him!
