Princess Eugenie is giving a glimpse of some outdoor fun with one of her young sons after attending church on Easter with King Charles and other members of the royal family.

On April 20, Eugenie posted pictures on Instagram showing her with one of her children. Princess Eugenie, 35, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, share sons August, 4, and Ernest, 22 months. The snaps captured from behind appeared to show her with Ernest, who is affectionately nicknamed Ernie.

“Happy Easter,” Eugenie wrote below the first photo on Instagram, adding a hatched chick emoji. The shot showed her squatting beside a pond with one of her sons, as they looked out at the water together. The royal typically avoids showing her sons’ faces on social media but keeps her followers looped with cute updates on what they’re doing.

King Charles’ niece shared a similar picture to her Instagram Stories, which appeared to be another snap from the same excursion. It similarly showed her and her son at the water’s edge, with her turning to smile at the camera.

The relatable royal, who is one of the few members of the royal family to actively maintain a personal, public presence on social media, added festive text over the Instagram Stories reading, “Happy Easter,” plus eggs and stars.

Princess Eugenie wore a long yellow dress in the pictures with her son, revealing an outfit change from earlier in the day.

Eugenie looked bright in white when she and Jack, 38, joined her royal relatives for the Easter Matins Service on Sunday morning. It’s tradition for the royal family to go to church together on Easter at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, and the couple stepped out for the service for the first time in two years.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson‘s younger daughter sported a white wrap coat with a matching fascinator and beige heels for church.

It was Prince Andrew’s first official public appearance in over a year as he is no longer a working royal after stepping back in 2019 amid fallout around his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. He arrived at church with his ex-wife, his sister Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

The Duke and Duchess of York divorced in 1996 after a decade of marriage, but remain close today and were at church on Easter with both of their daughters. The former couple’s elder daughter, Princess Beatrice, and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, rounded out their ranks, arriving at church hand-in-hand.

It was Beatrice and Edo’s first major royal event following the early birth of their baby daughter Athena, who was born preterm in January. Though Buckingham Palace initially announced Princess Beatrice’s pregnancy with an “early spring” due date, it’s understood that Athena’s premature arrival was not unexpected.

In the statement announcing the happy news of Athena’s birth, the palace said that both mother and baby were “doing well.”

Baby Athena (whose full name, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, honors the royal family’s late matriarch, Queen Elizabeth) made Beatrice and Edo a family of five, as they were already parents to daughter Sienna, 3, and Christopher Woolf, 9, his son from a previous relationship.
