On Friday and Saturday, maximum temperatures will be +23 C to +28 C in most of Latvia.
It will be markedly cooler along the coast, with some places only around 10 degrees. The chill from the winter-cooled waters of the Baltic Sea will affect only those parts of the coast where the wind is coming in from the water. The chill is more likely on the Gulf of Riga coast in Kurzeme on Friday and on the west coast of Kurzeme – Liepāja, Pāvilosta and Ventspils on Saturday.
Nights will also be summery with minimum temperatures of +9 C to +15 C, a degree cooler along the coast.
There is a possibility that the absolute record for the maximum temperature in April will be reached during these days, which so far is 27.9 degrees recorded in Riga on 24 April 2000.
Both days will be mostly sunny, but some rain and thunderstorm clouds may form in parts of Kurzeme and central parts of the country at some point, but rain, if it does occur, will be short-lived.
On Easter Sunday, the weather will turn colder, with more cloudy skies and occasional rain. Temperatures will stay below 20 degrees, much cooler along the coast.
Frosts are expected on some nights in the week after Easter.
