2. Normally I’m not bothered about the Seanad elections but I’d really like to see Clonan win it. Disability rights activist, security analyst and former military officer who exposed sexual abuse within the Defense Forces.

   I’d much rather see a Seanad seat go to a civil society specialist with a new angle to offer the Oireachtas (the one positive about the Seanad) than yet another career politician who failed to get elected to other roles.

   I was a bit wary of her, with her constant playing the victim and labeling any criticism of her as “racist”.

   But when she started ranting that the gardai killed George Nkencho in some kind of racist execution, she earned my contempt.

   I’ll also echo the thought that it’s better to see the Seanad with more members who aren’t career politicians

9. Seanad is absolutely pointless and serves no purpose other than to delay bills in passing. They are on a minimum of 70,000 euros per annum. too.

11. Oh thank god…she came to my door. I put it to her that if she wants people to go green maybe she should make green options more attractive e.g. better public transport or use fuel vat to subsidise electric vehicles.

    She said to me “well look, we have to save the planet”…the Councillor doesn’t even know anything about carrot and stick! She’s just too ideological

23. If you’re an Irish citizen you, unlike a citizen of most democracies, can’t vote if you live abroad. *Unless* you graduated from Trinity or an NUI. Only then does the Irish constitution deem you worthy of Oireachtas representation.
