Hey everyone,
I’m planning a trip to the Fränkisches Bierfest in Nuremberg this June. I’ve been to the Biermeile in Berlin a couple of times when it was held and loved the vibe: loads of traditional German breweries, a lot of different foods, and bad music.
I was wondering if there are any other festivals around Germany that are similar? Recommendations for craft beer festivals would be welcome too.

You can go to Bamberg and do the beer walk, you can visit up to 9 breweries. At some beergardens there is live music at weekends.
You can do it on your own or by guided groups.
If you happen to come to Nuremberg in early to mid June you can always come and check out the bergkirchweih in Erlangen. It’s quite a huge Beerfest similar to octoberfest so definitely different in size and it’s less about the beer itself but still really enjoyable all in all.
For example check the Karlsruhe Bierbörse in August it’s in the park of the castle.

But there are lot of other “Bierbörsen” happening if you have a look at the city selection on the website
You won’t find any craft beer festivals in Germany but pretty much every town/village/city has a Volksfest/Kirmes at sometime during the year which is mainly focused on beer. It’s usually either celebrating the founding of the local parish or a patron saint. Oktoberfest is the most famous & biggest. Second biggest is either Rheinkirmes in Düsseldorf or Cranger Kirmes in Herne depending on the year.
