*I did it!* A year ago I posted that I had mailed in my application for Swiss citizenship and today I got the confirmation. I am officially Swiss! (Posting this photo again, because I like it)

  1. Congrats and enjoy your future first voting session!

Out of curiosity, would you mind telling us where you were from originally ?

  2. Did you submit that photo cuddling the cow in your application? It only could have helped 🙂

Sidenote w/ relevance to the picture: I literally just got my A license less than an hour ago, and it took me 1.5 years – longer than your citizenship process 🙈

    (Edit: spelling)

  3. Do you still have the US citizenship? I heard you have to pay US taxes just for owning the US citizenship without living or working there. Is that true?

  4. Well now that you’re a citizen, you have the great question laying before you. Are you Team Peche or Team Citron?

  5. Congratulations ! I dont know what im waiting…I got right 3 years ago to apply…probably im going to do it soon 🙂

  6. So happy for you! I’m still waiting 2 YEARS after I had the meeting with the municipality of my commune, and they gave their go-ahead. So basically it’s 2 *years* of administrative stuff and I’m willing to understand how can something administrative can take that long. And they have all the required information, I just don’t know why.

  7. Congratulation! I’ve been living in Switzerland for 20 years and still don’t have the citizenship, i passed the test last year in September and still waiting for a response today

    So happy for you !

  8. My father, currently 64, has lived in Switzerland since he was 1 year old and never asked for the citizenship (having married a Swiss he always said he won’t need). If he would ask for it I think people in the town council will be very surprised to know that their buddy is not actually Swiss 🙂

  9. Well congratulations and be safe when driving on those great mountain passes that cyclists enjoy so much!
