CHARLOTTE, N.C. — North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein will deliver his State of the Economy speech on Tuesday, discussing the state’s economic outlook, growth, and business advantages.
Stein’s address comes as state lawmakers are working on a $65.9 billion budget proposal. Senate leaders approved their two-year proposal last week and sent it to the House. The budget includes massive tax cuts, pay raises for law enforcement, and $700 million in additional Hurricane Helene relief.
Stein is scheduled to speak during an event in Winston-Salem on Tuesday. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. and will be streamed live on WCNC+. The governor will be joined by Mark Owens, the president and CEO of Greater Winston-Salem Inc. Owens is scheduled to give remarks on the city’s strategies for building its talent pipeline and how leaders hope to attract companies to relocate to the Tar Heel State.
