  1. Ask them if they want to be the change they want to see, because that’s imperative — at least, according to folks in the climate science community.

*Climate change is everyone’s problem, but who should do something about it? Individuals changing their lifestyles, or governments leading the way?*

*Lifestyle change and system change are two sides of the same coin.*

*I often get questions that suggest people view this as a binary. “Do you think individual actions matter when systemic change is what we need?”*

*But this is a false binary. It’s not one or the other. It’s both.*

*But it also seems wrong to suggest that individual actions — especially as larger collectives — don’t matter at all. Individuals are, after all, part of the system. We’re one of the cogs. Not nearly big enough to get things moving on our own — which is why us all “doing our bit” is not going to cut — but certainly capable of slowing things down if we’re not willing to budge.*

  2. I know its cringe, but it’s that one meme that goes something like when asked who wants change and everyone raise their hands, but when asked who wants to change no one raises their hands

as a collective of course everyone wants stronger climate action but there is a ton of inertia when it comes to changing the habits of each individual
