  1. It’s really concerning that the US is trying to pressure other countries, I mean, really, into reducing trade with China, which is a terrible idea considering the European Union’s trade deficit reached a staggering £322.16 billion in 2022, and China supplies a huge 20 percent of the EU’s imports, and this could be a real disaster for everyone.

  2. Mental that China is being a voice of reason in trying to get other nations to not back nazis and have a back bone.
    World got flipped.

  3. Again, gotta agree with China on this.

Trump is the typical example of giving him an inch will result in him taking a mile.

  4. Tiger? But wasn’t it a dragon like last week or so?

  5. I’m in the UK and I can tell we are going to make a deal with satan as a nation we are spineless nowadays

  6. Going to take a lot more bots and ad buys to convince the world your remotely trustworthy China…

  7. China’s warning isn’t just to the US. It’s a flex aimed at any country thinking of picking a side. This trade war’s turning global, and the ripple effect’s already hitting allies

  8. Yeah right. China, who is committing genocide against Tibet and the Uyghurs; has illegally taken over Hongkong; is threatening Taiwan with hostile takeover; is neo-colonising most of Africa and South America; is spying on the West and promoting anti-West interests; is killing poor fishermen and ruthlessly oppressing its own population; and is currently sponsoring Russia is the “good guy” and “better than” the US? Give me a break, only a fool would swallow this manure and sadly the world has too many of that kind.

  9. In a world where you gotta jump in the tiger’s mouth to escape the fire

  10. Trump doesn’t even have demands, he has dementia. He’s angry about trade deficits, do you know how stupid that is? His plan to bring back manufacturing is killing existing factories. The US spent half a century building global trade around the dollar and framing international policy around US interests and Trump is setting it all on fire in record time. What the fuck did Canada do? We’re living in a south park world.

  11. The tiger is for the rest of the world, in the U.S. it’s the leopard that will get you

  12. You guys think Xi has seen “Blood And Honey” yet?

  13. “Tiger” refers to US, not China.

The headline makes it sound like China is the tiger eating up tariff victims.

    >On 21 April, China’s Commerce Ministry responded sharply, cautioning other nations that ‘seek one’s own temporary selfish interests at the expense of others’ interests is to seek the skin of a tiger.’

    >**Essentially, Beijing contended that those attempting to make deals with the US – the tiger – would ultimately suffer the consequences themselves.**

[“seek the skin of a tiger”: to request others (usually bad people) for something against their interests (which is impossible)](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E8%88%87%E8%99%8E%E8%AC%80%E7%9A%AE)

  14. It doesn’t take a genius to realise that the statement is correct.

Trump is trying to rip off everyone.

  15. Its wild how many people here are eager to present China as the good guy, instead of just another bad guy. You can hate their dystopia, AND ours. That is fully an option. People that lost their everloving shit over a possible wrong deportation are willing to just pretend like Tibet and the encroachment on Bhutan and the suppression and kidnapping of the Uyghur are just dandy because, hey, they don’t like Trump.

  16. What Donnie Dumbass doesn’t understand is what the US offers to rest of the world is buyers and a reputation of paying its bills.

His actions have resulted in more unemployment, higher prices on everything, and less money in the pockets of Americans who are the buyers. This began a downward spiral of less money equals fewer buyers which leads to fewer orders that create even more unemployment and less money to spend. Trump also failed to honor a deal to protect the Ukraine. Instead he tried to blackmail them into giving up their national resources to get protections that they already were assured of when they gave up nuclear weapons decades ago.

So let’s break down the choices the world has between the US and China.

On the one hand you have China who is offering cheap manufacturing and low prices on products that are produced there. That helps your people buy more and it helps your businesses using parts produced in China make low cost products for sale both within your country and for export. China also offers a place to sell your goods and has the second best economy to sell your goods.

On the other hand you have the US, which already (unprovoked) slapped your country with a tariff and violated trade agreements you already made. The US does offer the number one buying economy. But it has laid off thousands of federal workers thus creating fewer buyers. Also, due to the tariffs it imposed, thousands of businesses now have to pay more to get the goods imported, which results in lower sales at higher prices. This will result in greater unemployment, which means even less money in the economy, greater unemployment, and higher prices. And the cycle continues. So that status as the number one economy is going bye bye. The US also offers a couple of other things, one of which is a reputation for paying its debts. By slapping tariffs on existing current trade agreements, Donnie Dumbass has managed to ruin the faith and trust in the US. And it doesn’t help that Trump is trying to illegally Federal Reserve chairman with another political lapdog. This combination of actions have shaken the faith that the US will pay its debts, which is toxic for the dollar. The other big offering by the US is its military and its role in the world as a protector of its allies. When deciding whether to side with China or the US, other countries are looking at how little Donnie T and Vance treated the Ukraine. Decades ago, the US agreed to provide protection to the Ukraine in exchange for the Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons. Instead of honoring that agreement, the world watched as the US tried to extort the Ukraine into giving up its national resources in exchange for honoring its agreement to provide the aid that was already promised.

TLDR- The countries of the world are having to decide as to who would be a better trade partner with the current choice is between:

    – China, whose current government and polices offer low cost manufacturing, honoring of it agreements, and has the second largest economy that is rapidly expanding or
    – the US, whose current government and policies offer increasing unemployment, tariffs that are crippling its businesses (and increasing unemployment and prices), does not honor it’s current agreements (both economic and military) and may not honor any future ones, and possesses the worlds largest economy that is rapidly declining due to poor policies that increasing unemployment and prices.

  17. 1) Put massive tariffs on Europe for no reason

    2) Negotiate with Europe to reduce tariffs if they gang up on China with you, as well as cutting food safety standards to allow Americans to sell you more food

These are literally KGB tactics. Create a problem for someone else that causes conflict, then negotiate around solving the problems you just created in order to get what you want in return.

  18. He’s right, but appeasing China too much would also lead to having your face eaten by a tiger down the road.

  19. Doesn’t China identify more as a dragon?

What happened to make them adopt the tiger?

  20. The tiger has already eaten. It’s fat and happy. Now it’s afraid.
