1. People aren’t that stupid. Anyone actually following what’s been going on can clearly see that Trump is totally to blame for the situation we’re all in.

22. The problem for Powell is that he’s not allowed to be political where the president has no such restraints. Trump will hammer Powell endlessly calling him a loser and laying blame on him for the recession, and his sheep will believe it.

26. Of course he is. Powell is going to come under immense pressure in the coming months and it’s quite likely he’ll either quit or cave in. Essentially the same thing but why would you stick around and be abused by these clowns on a daily basis.

    It would weaken the dollar immediately as it would be seen as an attack on monetary policy independence causing capital flight and reduced demand for USD assets. You would essentially have a politicized Fed and pushes countries to diversify from the dollar.

    Prolonged uncertainty = Prolonged Damage.
