  1. Dont give Trump anything, cause he will just change his mind. Can never be trusted

  2. The EU should give it a try and experience the humiliation Canada once faced: aligning with the US on tariffs against China, only to be threatened by Trump with annexation.

  3. If we are to choose between a rational authoritarian regime and a batshit crazy authoritarian regime, let’s go with the rational one

  4. Since the exact demand isn’t mentioned we can have fun speculating.

Oh to choose between a country that produces almost everything and a country that insults you at every opportunity and only produces high fructose corn syrup.

  5. Yeah, giving in to demands from an unreliable asshole is never a good idea.

  6. I’m pretty sure Europe’s historical trade deficit with China was worse back in the old days and unlike the USA, Europe had to find silver instead of just printing some extra cash to buy stuff from them. Nevertheless Europe still survived so it isn’t surprising they won’t decouple

  7. Signing “deals” with the USA proved to be a mistake. See Ukraine 1997.

  8. The EU should decouple as much as needed as it already has been doing (doesn’t mean to cut all economic ties, just most areas or the more sensitive ones), without tying it to whatever Donny Il Mafioso says. We do it solely based on our interests, as every power around the world is doing, and to not strengthen an anti-democratic bloc that has recently been joined by the USA.

  9. So the muricans know they’re going to have to go to war with China over Taiwan so what do they do? they tariff the shit out of them and everyone else and then think the EU will decouple from China?

Am I getting this right? do they think the EU will defend Taiwan because I don’t think so at this stage. So they’re fucking themselves in whatever war in the future they have with China. Make it make sense you dummy bastards.

  10. Good. Stand up to that fascist bully and don’t give him an inch

  11. The Trump admin is so brilliant. Threaten allies with invasion (Canada, Denmark) then slap tariffs on them, then try to bully them into joining your misguided and ill thought out attempt to win a trade war against China.

Shocked that Europeans didn’t agree to join with a punitive and erratic US

  12. Just because a deranged orange lunatic wants to ruin their economy by raising prices, it doesn’t mean the rest of the world wants to do the same.

  13. Straight up. I wouldn’t decouple from a rabid moose to please Trump. Whatever you are could to, Trump is 1,000x worse.

  14. Of course they won’t. There’d be no benefit to that.

  15. We have almost 4 years left of this. It’s gonna be a slow downward spiral of this kind of insanity, isn’t it? Maybe we should just cut all communication with current us administration and wait it out, this is so tiring. It’s like trying to argue with a manic schizophrenic

  16. That’s logical.

China is a more predictable trade partner.

(When you build a plant or factory, you have expectations for almost a decade ahead. Trump can change the trade conditions over a night).

  17. Good. We should decouple from USA instead, MAGA will be for some time, and it want to hurt us. We should be independent.

  18. First the US demands an end to anti discrimination measures from their trading “partners” and now they try to bully the EU into an anti China economy?!

The USA is drastically overplaying their hand.

  19. lol, you agree to this condition and the orange idiot will demand something else the next day.

  20. USA doesn’t know what it wants or who it’s friends were.

  21. Never give bullies what they want, cause all they learn from that is that they can come back and ask for more. Fuck Trump.

  22. Europe shouldn’t rely on China but negotiations shouldn’t dictate who you trade with

  23. I was a huge china hawk. I thought we should have decoupled from china a created a huge alliance against China with allies. Now I think it would be decades before we can begin to think about anything remotely similar thanks to trump. Single handlely given china another victory.

  24. Why would we? US aka Trump and his cronies could just change their mind next week and change the deal again or throw it out the window. Nobody will ever trust the US again.

  25. No shit. Trump changes his mind every day. Nevermind that he is literally still threatening to annex EU territory.

Why would anyone make a deal with Trump. What is the point.

  26. It’s simple China likes money

I don’t fucking know what the US likes or what it wants

  27. China said they don’t need the U.S. I think the EU as far as trade goes is coming to the same conclusion.

All that’s needed is for a Canada-Mexico-EU agreement, that a link up with the China-Japan-South Korea one and you’ll see other countries begging to join, like India, Australia.

Meanwhile the U.S. will be out in the cold, Trump sucking his left teat raging against everyone else, blaming everyone else, when it’s *HIS* fault.

The U.S. will take at least a decade to recover, and in some areas never will.

  28. I really hope the entire world turns its back on Trump. Break off all ties, stop importing from America, stop exporting all goods to America. This country needs a great big wake-up call, so we can get rid of all the authoritarian fascists in our government.

  29. It’s a dangerous situation when China is stable and predictable and the USA is erratic and untrustworthy

  30. Markets and businesses demand stability. Nobody is doing any deals with an unpredictable and unstable frenemy. Predictably, orange shitstain threw the entire world into the warm embrace of Xi Jinping.

To quote Mark Carney: US voters who voted for Trump back in office caused generations-long damage and received nothing of value in return.

  31. Iran Nuclear deal, walked away.

    NAFTA, Walked away

NAFTA’s replacement deal that trump made, Walked away.

    Commitment to Ukraine, Walking away.

    Tariff Policy, changes daily.

    Relationship with nearest neighbours, trashed.

Respect for the EU, in negative territory.

Hatred for China, set to maximum.

    Economic chaos, set to maximum.

    Respect for international law, zero.

    Respect for domestic law, zero.

Foreign aid, has foreign in the name, gone.

    Rules based order, forget it.

    NATO, haha

    WTO, bye!

    WHO, l8r.

Who the hell would do a deal with the USA, or break other agreements to appease the USA?

    Laughable.
