Y’all. While I agree with both points, I can’t totally relate to our Canadian brethren being irritated by Americans apologizing for the clusterfuck that is our current administration. BUT. As a born & bred Texan that moved to Georgia at 27, I have listened to snide comments about The Motherland for quite some time. Like 40 years

I’d like to think that Canadians would feel sad for us Democrats that have always wanted a Democracy opposed to an Oligarchy. Sincere apologies are our way of saying “we didn’t vote that asshole in.” We Democrats want it to clear to y’all that we love PEOPLE. ALL PEOPLE. So next time an American apologizes for trump & his backwards, greedy, uneducated voters, please just say thank you. They mean it.
